46th annual threshermen's show kicks off July 17
The Will County Threshermen love history , especially the mechanical and technical history of long ago farm equipment . Threshermen, or persons that cut the wheat, will operate belching antique steam engines and belt driven farm equipment Thursday, July 17 through Sunday, July 20 at the historic Dollinger Farm in Channaho , IL . This year marks the 46th Annual Will County Antique Tractor, Steam Engine, and Gas Show. This year Minneapolis-Moline tractors will be featured this year as the threshermen run steam driven equipment that will thresh wheat, cut boards, shell corn and plow. A garden tractor pull is new this year and will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 10:30 am. There will also be antique and kiddie tractor pulls, a petting zoo, a country store, gas tractors, arts and crafts, and a flee market. Food and refreshments are available on the grounds.
Each day a "Power Parade" of tractors tours the farm. Patrons can view a line up of vintage and modern gasoline-powered tractors- the green ones , John Deeres; the red, Farmall or International Harvesters; or the gold, Minneapolis-Moline. Other stationary gasoline engines are on display as well. The admission price, which supports the activities of the group is $5/adult and $2/child. Membership in the association is $20 per year and includes the monthly newsletter, access to all scheduled activities, and 4-day show pass for yourself , your spouse , and your children.
