Our 2024 Annual Meeting and Member Picnic was a beautiful gathering held on September 8, 2024, at the Charles and Jean Kestel Farm in Frankfort, IL. With more than 70 members, family, and friends in attendance, the event was a resounding success. We enjoyed a fantastic spread of food, including delectable main courses grilled by Fred Lestina, Jr., and Jay Roesel. Jean adorned the setting with lovely fall decorations, vibrant plants, and exquisite floral arrangements that added a festive touch.

This year’s election confirmed the continuance of our current Directors, while we bid farewell to Henry Reus, who stepped down from the Board due to his busy schedule. We are grateful for his years of dedicated service and continued support of WCTA. We are happy to welcome Jeff Brandau, who was appointed to fill the vacancy.

The leadership remains with Brad Eike as President, Lane Heatherwick as Vice President, Fred Lestina, Jr. as Treasurer, and Andy Rousonelos as Secretary. Directors include Bob Homerding, Ron Schubbe, Charlie Kestel, Alan Heatherwick, Brian Kestel, Jerry Kinsella, and Jeff Brandau.

The picnic also gave us the opportunity to get a look at our 2025 Pedal Tractor and farm toy, which we will be raffling at next year’s show. During the picnic, we raffled off beautiful plants, and Bob and Bev Homerding were proudly featured with their 2024 Show King and Queen banner.
