Roll Call -Lane Heatherwick
Lane called the roll. There were 10 directors, and 75 members and guests present.
Secretary's Report -Andy Rousonelos
Brad asked if everyone had received their minutes, and if there were any additions or corrections. Jean made a motion to accept the minutes as published. Russ seconded that motion, and it was passed by all present.
Treasure's Report -Fred Lestina
Fred reported we had income including $5400 member donations, and $75 in dues. Expenses included $567.50 for our ad in the show directory book, and $269.44 in sawmill repairs. Jeff made a motion to accept the report as read, it was seconded by Pat, and it was passed by all present.
Old Business
Brad started off thanking everyone for such a great year in 2025. Despite poor weather at the show, we still had 2 good days, and several great events throughout the year. We gained many new members, new sponsors, and all of that comes because we have such a great group of members. He also wanted to thank everyone for their contributions toward the silent auction, and for so much great food from all our great cooks. A wonderful Christmas party was enjoyed by the largest group we have had together so far!
Brad also offered an update on several members. John Cronin continues with therapy in hopes of returning home. He appreciates the get well cards, and visitors. Monroe S. is continuing lymphoma treatments. Charlie had surgery which went well, and he was pleased to be on the mend and joining us for the celebration. We were sorry to lose Don Warner Jr (67), as well as learn of the passing of Mark Corson (64) back in November. Mark made several wonderful videos of our show for over 20 years and shared them to his YouTube channel.
Brad announced that the bus for the joint Fair Oaks tour with the Green Club was not full yet, and we were taking last-minute sign-ups in hope of filling the bus. Secretary’s Note: The January 24 joint tour with the CIGC was cancelled due to weather. A future tour date will be announced, without the bus offering.
The plaques for the donated tables have come in, Ron and Lane will be going to pick up the new tables before our next meeting.
Monroe Striggow has donated 2 wagons to the group, as well as the use of a 3rd wagon during the show. He will continue to store all 3 wagons.
New Business:
A custom bench was made for Steve and Cindy Spiess for going above and beyond as landlords. The bench included boards cut on the sawmill during the show. Thanks to Lane, Jerry, & Andy for their contributions on the bench.
Kyle will be selling pedal tractor raffle tickets at the Lincoln Toy Show in Romeoville on January 25. The show is geared more towards Matchbox cars, but it will be great advertising at a local toy show.
There is more firewood to be split at Lane’s when the weather improves. A future log splitting day will be announced.
Lane reminded everyone that June 6 will be our tractor drive. He is continuing to work on a route, with a potential lunch near Manteno, either at the Manteno American Legion or having a catered lunch in a machine shed as usual.
Brad thanked the managers at TSC in New Lenox for their donations to our silent auction, as well as their support throughout the year.
Jess reminded everyone that general merchandise as well as past merchandise can be purchased through Bonfire, accessed through our website. It is all made to order so we do not have to sit on inventory.
Adjournment:
Jerry made a motion to adjourn the meeting. It was seconded by Eric and was passed by all present.
