Call to Order -Brad Eike

At 7:00 pm. our acting president, Brad Eike, opened the meeting, and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call -Brad Eike

Brad called the roll and found 8 directors and 16 members and guests present.

Secretary's Report -Charlie Kestel

Charlie made copies of the November 11th meeting minutes available to all who were in attendance. Brad asked for any comments or corrections, and there were none. Lane made a motion to accept the minutes as published, Russ seconded the motion, and it was passed by all present.

Treasure's Report -Fred Lestina

Fred reported Income of $442.43. We had donations of $500, dues of $100, a monthly meeting donation of $45, and tee shirt sales of $57, minus $259.57 paid for our next pedal tractor raffle. We had expenses of $589.55. We repaid Charlie $79.55 for the corn picker’s lunch, and paid Jess $510 for Communications, PR & Marketing services. This leaves us with a deficit of $147.12. John Cronin made a motion to accept the report as presented. Andy Rousonelos seconded the motion, and it was passed by all present.

Old Business

  • There was discussion on how many steamers we need to have at our show. It is getting quite costly to pay for hauling, and it was suggested that possibly we share the hauling bill with the owners. Lane commented that the hauling bills are getting very high.

  • Brad reported that they sold 107 raffle tickets at the Newark Toy Show with the help of Russ, Sharon and Brad.  The next show is scheduled for February 1st, from 9 – 2:30 at the PBL High School in Paxton. After that, the next shows in Serena, Seneca, and Sublett, are scheduled in March. All help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Lane suggested that we donate $250 to the Will County Sheriff Auxiliary, for all the help         they give us throughout the year, especially during our tractor drive. Terry made a motion to do that, and it was seconded by Steve. It was passed by all present.

  • Jerry “the Griller” is going to put our ad on his food trailer, advertising our show. He goes to quite a few events, and it was decided to reimburse him $200, which will cover his fee to be a vendor at our show. It was also suggested that we put a show ad on the side of the Dolly Madison trailer, which can be seen when you are coming from the north. Nothing was decided about that.

  • The Member Christmas party will be on January 9, 2022 at 1pm. It will be held at the Wilton Center Federated Church Fellowship Hall, 14101 W. Joliet Rd. Manhattan, IL 60442 (just down the road from the show grounds). Members are invited to join for lunch, celebration, a brief member meeting and a silent auction fundraiser. For this event, we ask attendees to bring a dish to share based on the first letter of your last name:  A-F bringing vegetable side dishes, G-M desserts, N-S salads, deviled eggs or rolls, and T-Z hot potatoes or stuffing.

  • It was suggested that we donate $600 to the church for allowing us to have our meetings and events there.

New Business

  • Brad wanted input on updating our truck magnets with the 60th anniversary of the show. We also want our internet address to be visible.

  • Alan also got feedback about the size of our plaques. They would like them to remain the same size, so it doesn’t interfere with their displays.  We need to decide on which tractor to feature on the button. It came down to Spoker-D, or 1962 JD #4010. There will be no hat pins.

  • Brad did research with Ertl and Spec cast, and since we cannot get John Deere, there will be no toy feature at the show. Ertl is the only toy company that has JD approval, and they have a minimum order of 1000 units.

  • We are going back to drawing a winner for our pedal tractor on Sunday of our show.

  • Jess received a quote for ads on Classic Tractor Fever, and it was decided that the cost was too high for our club.

  • The Green Club had their Christmas party Dec. 15th, and the January meeting will have a speaker discussing “quick – take” and eminent domain.

  • So far, we have 14 volunteers who will ride on our people movers to describe our displays. We can use more.

  • Al questioned the lineup for Hillary’s sled. Charlie spoke to Mike Hillary, and we are on his list.

  • Lane has June 11th scheduled for our tractor ride. He has 2 suggestions, #1 – Go N to Homer Township or #2 – SE thru Manteno.

Adjournment

Jeff Brandau made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 pm. It was seconded by Terry Donovan and was passed by all present.
