WCTA Members at 2021 Half Century Progress Show
Many members of the Will County Threshermen’s Association made their way south to Rantoul, Illinois to enjoy this year’s Half Century of Progress Show which took place August 26-29th, 2021. The show shares similarities to the WCTA Annual Antique Tractor & Steam Engine Show as both celebrate the history of agriculture, include fieldwork demonstrations on equipment sometimes up to eight decades old, and bring together the community surrounding antique farming, equipment and machinery.
Pictured below are Tim Jungles, Lane Heatherwick and Andy Rousonelos aboard the WCTA’s 1904 P&O 8 Bottom Gang Plow. This plow was restored by Association Members and is now owned and maintained by the Association.
The plow was pulled by George Schaaf’s 1923 Case Cross-Motor Steel Wheel Prairie Tractor Model 40-72, weighing 21,200 lbs.
WCTA Member, Dennis Christianson brought their 1980 Cook Corn Sheller to the Show.
Director Member, Lane Heatherwick, brought his 1948 UC Hi-Crop Allis-Chalmers Tractor and pulled his 1942 Allis- Chalmers 3-14 Plow.
